Śītalī Breath.

You might have heard of it…

Śītalī - pronounced - sheet-ah-lee - is the the ‘cooling’ pranayama technique often practiced in Yoga, when we need to soothe out minds and regulate our body temperature.

Anyone can do this - its just about finding the right technique for you.

Option 1 - stick out the tongue and curl it.

Option 2 - close your teeth and part your lips.

  • Breath in through your curled tongue/ teeth.

  • Close your mouth + put the (cooled) tongue to the roof of your mouth

  • Breath out through the nose

  • Repeat

Tips

Keep the rest of your body restful.

Find a comfortable position to sit or lay.

Watch out for any building tension in the jaw your shoulders.

Keep the breath gentle and slow.

Practice for 3 minutes.
